What is a Green Wall?
"A green wall is a wall, either free-standing or part of a building, that is partially or completely covered with vegetation and, in some cases, soil or an inorganic growing medium. The concept of the green wall dates back to 600 BC with the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. " From Wikipedia.
So many landscapes could benefit using a Greenwall. Other names used are Vertical Garden and Grow wall. One of the best ways to use this feature is to plant Herbs in panels & hang them from the structure.
Galvacore is the Answer
We began using this revolutionary product in 2011. Galvacore. This panel system is a flexble method to install fences or greenwalls mounting these 4 foot x 8 foot panels. Small Spaces - Use green walls
This wall is in a subdivision section consisting of narrow lots of Cottage Homes. It helps soften the look since there are small, close side yards but no backyards. This is the view out the side windows of this home. A green space looks more inviting than a plain fence or wall. Adding wall baskets or wall art totally changes the feeling of this outdoor room. We additionally used landscape lighting on this wall to enhance the evening view.
Choose Greenwall plants carefully
If you choose plant varieties wisely, greenwalls have very little maintenance. This wall of Boston Ivy needs very little puning. The wall baskets have drip irrigation to minimize hand watering since there are 40 pots and baskets at this home.
